INSSPIRE Highlighted During VU Amsterdam’s Celebration of 70 Years of International Cooperation

Last week, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam celebrated a remarkable milestone: 70 years of international cooperation. For the first time in its history, the university held a campus-wide celebration dedicated to its long-standing commitment to international partnerships—offering a moment to reflect on both past achievements and future ambitions.

The event opened with an inspiring speech by Dr. Denyse Snelder, Project Director of INSSPIRE and Interim Director of the Centre for International Cooperation (CIS-VU). In her address, Dr. Snelder traced the evolution of CIS over the past seven decades, highlighting the key phases and moments that have shaped the university’s international engagement.

A central part of the celebration was a photo exhibition showcasing major initiatives, including INSSPIRE, which was prominently featured. The exhibition will circulate through various buildings at VU Amsterdam throughout the year, providing high visibility for the project and its mission.

In addition to the exhibition, INSSPIRE and its SSTC partners shared reflections on the SSTC (South-South and Triangular Cooperation) collaboration, further emphasizing the university’s commitment to inclusive, sustainable, and strategic global engagement.

The INSSPIRE project team is proud to have been highlighted during this milestone celebration and looks forward to continued collaboration and visibility throughout the year.
